Robert von Sternberg (b. 1939) is an American photographer, artist, and educator whose six-decade career is defined by evocative, atmospheric imagery that transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. A pioneer in elevating photography as fine art, his work has been exhibited internationally, with 1,955 photographs held in the permanent collections of 258 institutions across 47 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., Australia, Canada, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Luxembourg, and Switzerland.
