MICHAEL ANSELL
Michael Ansell is an American artist working in photography, drawing, and painting. He earned his B.A. in Photography/Visual Communication from American University in Washington, D.C., and has exhibited widely, with solo shows in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Houston, and Seattle, and group exhibitions across the United States. His drawings and paintings are held in numerous permanent collections, including the Museo de la Madrid and major corporate collections. Ansell is also the illustrator of the award-winning children’s book Birdseye.
In addition to his fine art practice, Ansell works as a still photographer for Hollywood productions, capturing behind-the-scenes moments and celebrity portraits, and as a graphic designer for television title sequences and advertising layouts. Over his career, he has contributed photography to over 20 feature films and more than 100 television shows, reflecting a career at the intersection of art and popular culture.
