Meet The Photographer :: Patrick D. Pagnano

Patrick D. Pagnano (1947–2018) was a leading New York street photographer of the 1970s and ’80s, known for his “stream of consciousness” style that captured fleeting, story-rich moments. Often compared to Robert Frank and Garry Winogrand, he worked as a freelance photojournalist for major outlets. His books Shot on the Street and Empire Roller Disco showcase his vibrant, human-centered vision. His work has been exhibited at MoMA, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Brooklyn Museum.
